The Open Door Ministries, Inc.

The Friends of the Open Door received a $4000 award from the Marin Community Foundation on April 15, 2000. The award was combined with many other gifts of cash, goods, and services to remodel the dining room and kitchen.

Meals are prepared by a large group of neighbors who are associated under the banner, "Friends of the Open Door." While the ministry is hosted by the Sausalito Christian Fellowship (formerly, The First Baptist Church), the Friends of the Open Door are members of a number of Churches of various denominations in Sausalito and nearby communities.

If you feel led to participate in this program, leave a message on the answering machine at the church (415 332-0201) or send email to Pastor Herb or Lars. Please include your telephone number, so that the Friends of the Open Door coordinator can explain the program to you and work out a schedule for your contribution. You normally would be asked to prepare a main course, vegetable dish, salad, or dessert about one Friday every two months and bring them to the church between 5:00 and 6:00 PM on the designated Friday. Alternatively, you can come early to help prepare or stay late to help us clean up.
